6 Steps of the Program

Step 1: Establishing an understanding for the true meaning of Philanthropy

This is the opportunity for Youth to learn the word philanthropy and service-learning and gain a strong base of the true meaning of the words.

Step 2: Exploration of Social Causes

This is the opportunity for Youth to express what they would like to see improved in their community, may be concerned about, may be experiencing in their own life or community.

Step 3: Nonprofit Research

This is the opportunity for Youth to research non-profits that identify under the social cause the youth have selected to research during the project.

Step 4: Connect and Volunteer with a Nonprofit

This is the opportunity for Youth to take their research of the non-profit of interest and social cause to a deeper level with site-visits and possible volunteering.

Step 5: Advocacy and Voting

Youth will have the opportunity to select the non-profit organization they would like to receive the grant. Youth should be prepared to present their research, advocate, and persuade their peers to vote for their non-profit.

Step 6: Grant-Giving Ceremony Participation

Congratualtions on completing the program! A Grant-Giving Ceremony allows the facilitator, youth, and non-profit grant recipient come together for a final celebration.
