Objectives | The objective of Step 6 is to wrap up the information researched and learned during the Magnified Giving process. The Grant-Giving Ceremony is an important final reflection and celebration for the youth, facilitator and the non-profit. | The youth group or individual selected to award the grant should participate in the final ceremony. |
Explanation | The facilitator, non-profit representative, and youth should all appear in-person or virtually for the ceremony. Each program will have a few minutes to present about their program process, the agency selected and the youth’s why, and the agency has an opportunity to share about the organization and thank the student. | The youth representing their program will be given 2 to 4 mins. to share and educate others witnessing the celebration about what was learned about the social issue, why the agency was selected to receive the grant - what about the agency was special - how will the funds be used and why was this process impactful. |
Verification | The facilitator will understand the depth of this impact as they hear the presentations during the final celebration. Allowing the youth to present in front of other programs, donors, community members, and non-profits. | Youth will verify their understanding of the experience through the presentation during the in-person or virtual call. |
Activity | Facilitators will select a date/time to join a virtual or in-person ceremony. A list of options and link for final selection will be provided during the school year.
Facilitator is responsible to communicate the ceremony information to the selected agency to ensure a representative is present: staff member, volunteer or board member etc. - it is encouraged this communication is controlled by the facilitator or facilitator along side the youth.
