TF Letter to Non-Profits – Registration Invitation

 

Dear  Non-Profit Leader –

My name is Todd Forman and I am Program Director for Magnified Giving and a teacher at Mount Notre Dame High School in Cincinnati.  Founded in 2008 by local businessman and philanthropist Roger Grein, Magnified Giving’s Student Philanthropy Program has helped thousands of students from 35 high schools connect to hundreds of different non-profit organizations in the Cincinnati and northern Kentucky region. As a result of, many non-profits have gained valuable volunteers, enlightened and inspired future supporters, and nearly 80 non-profits have received a slice of the over $120,000 the students have granted to deserving non-profits these past five years!  (Click HERE for the list of past grant winners).  But more importantly, all non-profits in the region play a key role in the education of the next generation of philanthropists.  If you were contacted by a student group in the past, we thank you for your participation and we hope the experience was a positive one for you.

Continued Growth – Increased Grant Money to Non-Profits
Magnified Giving’s Student Philanthropy Program continues to grow, and this year we expect to have 50 high schools in the Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Perry OH and northern Kentucky regions participating.  The over 2000 student participants will be seeking non-profits to receive the over $70,000 in grant money we will have available this year.   These teens will looking to learn more about the non-profits of their communities and to see the good work you do. Some student groups may then invite you to complete a Grant Application.  This school year, to help you better understand our program and the role worthy non-profits play in the educational process, we are implementing some procedural changes.

Non-Profit Registration – NEW
In order to receive a grant from Magnified Giving this coming school year, we are requesting ALL non-profit organizations who might like to receive a grant to partner with us by filling out a simple REGISTRATION FORM.  We believe that we are both partners in education, and that you have a right to know the challenges and rewards that come with being an educational partner.  This form will ask for basic information about your NPO and will allow your organization to “Qualify” to be in-the-running for a grant from a student group participating in our program.  All NPOs must be on this list in order for non-profits to complete a Grant Application and potentially receive grant money this year.   You will only need to complete this Registration Form one time to be put on the “Qualified” list (see http://www.magnfiedgiving.org/qualified).

Our school programs will begin in late August/early September and students will begin exploring non-profit organizations soon thereafter.  Non-profit registration will continue all school year as students identify non-profits and invite them to register on our site.  However, the earlier you get your name on our “Qualified” list, the more likely you are to be explored by students groups and the more likely you are to receive a grant.  Here is another link to our Registration Form.
