Program Resources – Step 6

Step Six: Advocate & Vote

Students demonstrate their learning through synthesizing their experience and creating a product, presentation, or other demonstration of knowledge. They advocate on behalf of the social cause and nonprofit, and together, collectively determine which nonprofit will be awarded their Magnified Giving grant. (*Note: Consider how to include cross educating, educating, and celebrating knowledge with a larger audience–school, community, leadership team)

We encourage opportunities for public speaking while advocating on behalf of a nonprofit organization!

Once the group(s) have selected the non-profit organization they would like to receive the grant students should be prepared to present their research, advocate, and persuade their peers to vote for their non-profit organization.

Giving Ceremonies

Prepare your students to share their experiences with other students, teachers, nonprofits, and community leaders at Magnified Giving’s Spring Giving Ceremonies! These events take place in the spring (in person and virtually). Students take the stage to introduce the nonprofit that they advocated for, share their learning process, and celebrate the nonprofit organization while awarding their $1,000 grant.

Dates are announced through teacher updates from Alison Kaufman, please reach out with any questions regarding Giving Ceremony dates!
