What is the mission of your organization? |
Our job is to provide support services to people with developmental disabilities in Hamilton County. Those services include housing, in-home care, medical supervision, transportation, job and life counseling, entertainment and recreation. We want to set the standard for care of the disabled in the community. Our goal is for our clients to live as independently, safely, and happily as possible. We believe, as citizens and as Catholics, that those who have been given material advantages in life have a responsibility to help those who have not been given those advantages. |
Which social causes does your agency address through its programming? |
|
Most schools have between $1000 and $1500 to grant. How could your organization use a grant of this size? * |
|
Receiving a grant of this size would be such a blessing for our agency in that we would use it in many different areas to enhance the care that we provide. Our agency has several homes in the Cincinnati area and some of the homes are in need of some major renovations. These well needed renovations include driveway repairs, furnishing the homes, and updates to help maintain the safety of all of our supportive living homes. As an agency we would also use the money to help offset costs of transportation for individuals we serve that do not receive enough funding from the county. The grant would also be used to help lower overall costs for vacations and community activities for the individuals we serve. |

Any other comments you would like to share with the students who might be reviewing your request? |
We are a dynamic agency and we strive everyday to better ourselves so that we set the standard of care for the people with developmental disabilities in Cincinnati. Some of these services such as providing assistance with daily living needs may seem small but leave a lasting impact on people that need them, while benefits of other services are readily apparent, such as making dreams come true by planning vacations around the needs and abilities of the people we serve. We will continue to support people with disabilities in our communities for many years to come. |
