What is the mission of your organization? Our Mission is to share the love of Jesus Christ by providing hope, encouragement and food to low income families in our area.
Which social causes (up to 3 choices) does your agency address through its programming? *
  • (3) Children
  • (9) Hunger
  • (11) Poverty
Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists? We accomplish our mission through our food pantry which is open 9-noon, and 2 evenings a month to provide about 130# of food and household items to approximately 1000 families each month and by making weekend packs of food available to the Kenton County School District for 230 students each week during the school year.
Does your organization have volunteer opportunities available for students? * Yes, Grades 6 – 12
List possible volunteer opportunities -or- a link to where they can be found on the web.
All our work is done by volunteers, but it is almost exclusively during the day and suitable for adults, not students. These people interview clients, distribute the food, stock the shelves, drive the truck and manage the inventory in the warehouse. However, on the 1st and 3rd Monday evenings of each month, we are also open to service clients and distribute orders to residents of nearby senior homes. We also do work those evenings stocking shelves, sorting incoming donations and filling bags in preparation for the clients who will come on Tuesday morning. We would welcome small groups (5 or so) of young people to work with us to learn what’s involved in making a pantry like ours function and witness the real need in the community.
We do not have a volunteer coordinator, per se, but you can contact me and I will talk with the people involved depending on when you want to come. (the phone number below is for our office. Leave your information for me or Dick Becker and one of us will call you back.)
