What is the mission of your organization?
PARACHUTE: Butler County CASA’s mission is to speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court. We promote and support quality volunteer representation for children to provide the child a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.
CASA volunteers achieve PARACHUTE’s mission by providing positive and measurable outcomes for abused and neglected children by acting as their voice in court and helping them get placed into a permanent and loving home. Children with CASA volunteers are less likely to be abused again while in the court system, are more likely to receive the help they need to recover from trauma, and are more likely to be placed into a permanent, safe, and nurturing environment.

CASA volunteers are ordinary people who do extraordinary work in service to our community. Moreover, CASA volunteers work in their own communities and believe in the rights and dignity of children. CASAs are committed to putting that belief to work for children who have been abused or neglected. PARACHUTE volunteers promote asset development by working to provide vulnerable children with a safe home, a stable environment, family support, positive communication, caring neighborhoods and communities, and a positive view of their future. In addition to training volunteers to serve as advocates, PARACHUTE is building and empowering the community with civic participation, which promotes collaboration to solve problems and to build a stronger community with involved citizens. By engaging community adults in this volunteer activity, PARACHUTE also encourages them to become partners with criminal justice professionals, which gives the community the chance to work together to find long-term solutions for child abuse and neglect. The success of PARACHUTE is directly related to these partnerships and the dedication of hardworking and committed community volunteers who give their time and effort to advocate for needy children.
