|What is the mission of your organization?||A Voice for the Innocent is a non-profit community dedicated to the support of those affected by rape and sexual abuse. We are a safe and compassionate space to come forward about your story and we use music and technology to provide access to long term resources.|
|Which social causes (up to 3 choices) does your agency address through its programming? *||
|Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists?||We support survivors of sexual violence. Many of the people we serve are dealing with traumas that happened to them when they were children. We work with them to connect them to resources and help get them to a point where they are supported, believed, and on their path to recovery.|
|Does your organization have volunteer opportunities available for students? *||Yes, Grades 6 – 12|
|List possible volunteer opportunities -or- a link to where they can be found on the web.|
|We run a program called HopeNotes. They are words of encouragement passed on from stranger to stranger, and we always need help stamping, cutting, or writing them. We also need help with simple data entry. This is appropriate for all ages.
We also have volunteer opportunities for ages 16 and up for joining our volunteer team and responding to stories on our site. Training is provided.
For ages 18 and up, we offer opportunities to table at various events.
*Please note that our volunteer director works remotely out of state, so if you reach out to her, she may refer you to Jamie or someone local for local events.
